- Are there any subscription fees with SMSOfficer?
No. First of all, you receive a bulk of 10 credits which should be used for service trial. Then you may purchase credits through the Prices page. There are no additional service fees by your mobile operator.
- What is a credit?
A credit lets you send a text message up to 160 English characters or 70 non-English characters.
- Will I get charged also by my mobile operator?
No. All the text messages are routed via SMSOfficer and not get charged by the mobile operator.
- I can’t find my mobile operator on the sign up page…
We are adding new mobile operators on a weekly basis. Please check again for your mobile operator.
- How do I send an SMS Text Message from MS Outlook?
Once you sign up with SMSOfficer, you’ll find a Text Message command which is available under the New drop down. Important: use the international format for your recipient number (e.g. +14155708928 for US/Canada or +447949149888 for UK).

* If you can’t find the Text Message command, please close your Outlook, wait about 20-30 seconds and launch it again.
- Is the recipient able to reply the text message?
Yes. When the recipient replies from his mobile phone, the message goes to the sender’s mobile phone. In some cases, mainly in the USA and Canada the mobile operators do not allow to set the correct sender ID and thus the recipient needs to manually type the reply number or select from his address book.
- Is it possible to set my company name as the Sender ID?
Yes. Most mobile operators allow setting a predefined text as the Sender ID for the text messages except USA and Canada. This option is available under My Account->Account Settings.
- Can I receive replies to my Outlook?
No. We are working on this option to allow senders to receive replies on their Outlook application. Once this option is ready we will add it to the My Account section.
- How do I set meetings reminders and E-mail notifications?
You can enable meetings reminders and incoming E-mail notifications via your Outlook application under Tools->Options->Notifications.
- How do I remove the SMSOfficer account from my MS Outlook?
You can simply remove the service from your MS Outlook application through Tools->Account Settings. Select the SMSOfficer account and click remove.
Also, make sure all the checkboxes under Tools->Options->Notifications are unchecked.
- What is SMSOfficer service?
SMSOfficer for Microsoft Office Outlook 2007 is a service that enables you to send and receive text messages from Office Outlook 2007 as well as receive SMS text message notifications of appointments, contacts and tasks on any SMS text messaging capable mobile phone. Using this new technology, you have the ability to get the time-critical information you require when you need it, using software you know and the phone you already own.
- Does SMSOfficer work with other versions of Microsoft Outlook?
No. SMSOfficer is compatible only with Microsoft Outlook 2007 and leverages the built-in OMS feature. You can check your Outlook version by click on “Help->About” on your Outlook application.
- What is SMS?
SMS stands for Short Message Service. Also known as Cellular Text Message, this service lets a cellular phone receive and send short textual messages. Please note that an SMS capable phone and SMS service is necessary for this feature to work.
- Does SMSOfficer require client download or installation?
Absolutely not, all you need is to sign up on SMSOfficer and your SMS feature will be enabled on your Outlook 2007.
- How does SMSOfficer service works with SMS services?
SMSOfficer service communicates with the mobile operator’s SMSC and delivers the SMS message to its destination mobile phone. The recipients will reply to the sender’s regular mobile phone number.

- Is it possible to purchase one bulk for a corporate and assign to
the relevant users?
Yes. Soon we’ll offer a business account option to let the corporate admin purchase bulk for the entire organization and assign to specific users and groups. Meanwhile, please use the Contact Us form for such requests.
- How do I check my credit balance?
Your credit balance can be found under “My Account” on www.smsofficer.com . You can purchase credits via the “Buy Credits” link.
- Will my credits expire at the end of each month?
No. The credits are not monthly based and you can use them according to your needs.
- What can I do if I forgot my password?
You can simply go to www.smsofficer.com and click on “Forgot Password” link. Your password will be sent to your e-mail address.
- How do I configure my Outlook 2007 to work with SMSOfficer service?
At the end of the Sign Up process, you will be asked to click on a configuration link which sets the entire configuration for you. All you need to do is to enter your password in order to complete the procedure.
Here is the configuration screen where you should enter your SMSOfficer account password:

* If you already have an SMSOfficer account and just need to configure your Outlook 2007, you should Sign In and click on “Configure Outlook 2007” link.
- Can I configure SMSOfficer settings manually?
Yes, after signing up you can follow the step by step instructions:
1. Open MS Outlook 2007.
2. Go to Tools->Account Settings
3. Click on New.
4. Select Other -> Outlook Mobile Service and hit Next.

5. Enter the Web Service Address: https://secure.smsofficer.com/oms/omsservice.asmx
6. Enter your international mobile number without the ‘+’ sign.
7. Enter your SMSOfficer account password received by SMS and click OK.
8. Restart your MS Outlook application to complete the configuration.
9. You can find the “New Text Message” option under “New” dropdown list on your Outlook toolbar.
